From Paper Recycling to Shredding and Now Junk Removal, We've Always Been Ready to Serve
Junk Works was born out of a family-owned business that has evolved to meet customer needs for nearly 30 years.
In 1993, a father and daughter team opened Recycling Works as a paper recycling company servicing Bay Area commercial printers and large office buildings. Although business was brisk, it wasn’t long until the principals at Recycling Works sensed that there was an even bigger need in the community.
In 1995, with security in mind, Recycling Works purchased a large plant-based shredder, installed a state-of-the art video monitoring security system, and Recycling Works was “reborn” as Shred Works. Soon Shred Works was servicing a wide range of clients like healthcare facilities, banks and credit unions, mortgage and title companies, lawyers, accountants, small businesses, retail facilities, and virtually any organization that needed to shred confidential information.
In 2003, Shred Works became the first plant-based shredding company in the area to be awarded an AAA NAID Certification from the National Association for Information Destruction, and we have maintained our certification ever since.
Over the last more than 2 decades, our reputation has grown and our client list has expanded. What started as a two-person, one-truck paper recycling business has grown into a full-size, trusted shredding company and now a junk removal company as well.
